With working widths of 24' and 30’, and many of the features KUHN mergers are known for, the MM 701 & MM 890 provide operators with the working power of a triple merger in the compact size of a twin.
KUHN’s twin hay mergers provide operators with simplicity, versatility, and dependability. The KUHN MM 701 and 890 Merge Maxx® hay mergers offer 24’ and 30’ pickup widths respectively. Designed for mid-to large dairy and commercial forage operations they can merge to the left, right or 50/50 split creating even windrows for the forage harvester. The floating windguard ensures smooth and even windrows to make the forage harvester more efficient, while the crop netting improves leaf retention in the windrow. Simple and durable mechanical flotation on each head eliminates the need to engage float via the tractor's hydraulics. The IntelliMerge™ ISOBUS control system is an industry exclusive and standard on both the MM 701 and 890, improving operator ergonomics and operational efficiency.
Features may include:
Multiple Delivery OptionsThe MM 701 and 890 hay mergers can merge crop to the left, right, split or with either wing in the raised position. Both models have the ability to 50/50 split leaving all windrows with an even amount of crop for better harvesting efficiency. Having the ability to raise the wings independently is particularly useful for opening up fields, merging around field obstacles or cleaning up point rows in irregularly shaped fields.
IntelliMerge™ ISOBUS Control SystemThe IntelliMerge™ ISOBUS control system allows the operator to run the machine, make adjustments, receive performance feedback and carry out diagnostics. Operators can tailor their machine to field and crop conditions to maximize their efficiency.
OptiSense™ Belt Stall IndicatorThe OptiSense™ belt stall indicator alerts the operator when the belts start to slow down when approaching the capacity of the machine. This gives the operator a chance to react before the machine plugs. If the belts stop, the sensor will shut down the machine to avoid damage to the belts and further plugging of the machine. The conveyor direction arrow will be red to identify the stalled conveyor. This is done by monitoring the idler roller speed on each conveyor. This feature helps the operator optimize performance, keeping the machine moving across the field for improved efficiency.
Constant Float® SuspensionA simple and effective mechanical suspension system is utilized for superior flotation. This unique design, inspired by the proven KUHN trailed disc mower, eliminates complicated hydraulic requirements and the need for tractor float valve engagement, unlike other mergers in the industry. The range of suspension on each pickup is 14” (+8”, -6”).
Narrow and Simple TransportThe simple folding design allows quick transition from field to road. Transport is a narrow 10’3” (3.1 m) wide and transport height is 12’ (3.7 m). Balanced tongue weight during transport and in the field helps you maintain control at all times. Field to transport position is accomplished quickly as only one hydraulic valve per head is used for folding.
